Meet Our Team

Robin Lucas

Founder/President/CPO (Chief Petting Officer)

Originally from Chico, California, Robin lived in Atlanta and now Decatur for over 40 years. She spent the majority of her career as Director of Client Relations for Mailtek, an Atlanta subsidiary of TSYS/Synovus. While at Mailtek/TSYS, she attended the Synovus Leadership Institute in Columbus, GA. This servant leadership training model serves as the foundation guiding her business. Her client/employee-centric focus, makes her an excellent listener and problem solver.

Robin’s deep love of animals started in her childhood. From as young as two years old she could be found playing, and often curled up napping, with the neighbor’s Weimaraner Missy. Robin can’t remember a time when she did not have pets. When she moved to Decatur in 2000 with her son Miles, Robin was her neighbors’ “go to” for pet-sitting and advice. Her friends and neighbors would often comment that she ought to start a pet care business. Wanting more time with her family, she combined her expertise in client service and her natural love and knowledge of animals, launching Oak Grove Pet Sitting and Dog Walking, LLC.

Robin’s vision for the company is one where the entire focus is on each pet and their unique needs. Robin states, “This is not a one size fits all company. We are not in the home just to check off a list of pet care ‘tasks.’  Though the tasks are important, our philosophy is to focus on the pet’s well being and make their experience positive and loving. We invest our time in getting to know them and then naturally become a trusted extended part of their family and care.”

At home, Robin’s family companions include two rescue Weimaraners, Velvet and Saddie May, a cattle dog mix, Alexis, and her cat Patch. In her free time, Robin enjoys listening to all genres and eras of music (Opera, Rock, Jazz), going to concerts and festivals, reading for her book clubs and visiting the sand and sunsets of the coastal Georgia beaches.

She said, “OGPS is so reliable and helpful that she had no hesitation in lending a paw when available.”

She describes herself as lucky because she gets to take her trained, certified therapy aussie doodle, Archie to school to help the students. Kristy says the most rewarding part is watching Archie working with children and his amazing positive impact on their behaviors and learning. When she’s not hard at work helping others, Kristy enjoys reading and powerlifting. The other members of her pack are two schnauzers, Boss and Jett.
